Excel Project 6:
Grade Book Part 2
Problem
You need to make some changes to the grade book you made in Excel Project 5. Make sure you have completed that project first.
Instructions
- The following students have been added to your class. What they earned on each assignment is listed below their names. Keep in mind that these students will be excused from some assignments and, therefore, these assignments cannot be used when calculating their grade.
Wesley Snipes - He didn't start class until a month into the year and he is excused from the first 3 assignments.

Jet Li - An exchange student. He started the year with everyone but then returned home. He is excused from the last 6 assignments.

- 2. The following corrections need to be made to the existing students. Calculate percentages and letter grades later.
Jennifer Lopez was discovered cheating with Heath Ledger on the final exam. They both receive a 0 for that grade.
Three mistakes were found in John Woo's grades. The grade for the final exam should be 65. The grade for Test 1 is changed to 52. The grade for the Poetry needs to be changed to 81.
The following changes need to be made to Forrest Gump's grades. His final exam should be 85. Test 2 should be 70. His poetry and teaching power points should now be 62 for each.
Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu's grades were switched. Please make sure the correct grades are recorded for those students.
Jean-Claude VanDamme's name will now read Jean for the first name and Claude for the last name.
- 3. Finally, an assignment was not added into the grade book. It needs to be placed between Test 2 and Poetry Power Point. It will be named Newsletter and it is worth 150 points. Below is what each student earned on this assignment.

- 4. Go back and confirm that you are using alternating colors in your grade book and your students are in ascending alphabetical order (A -> Z).
- 5. Create a new line chart with LAST NAME and ALL assignments (do not include points earned or percentage.)
- 6. Use data bars on each student's final percentage, and use conditional formatting to differentiate between the different letter grades. If you did the extra credit from the first part you do not need to make the plusses and minuses different colors.
- 7. Make sure your name is in the title of the Excel document and turn it in to Mr. Miller's Neighborhood.
